Museum Groups
The museum runs a number of regular groups that are held at the museum in the community room and we also run regular groups off site in local community settings.
At the Museum
Men’s Group
A group where men can meet and socialise with like-minded people and take part in an activity!
Activities have included: – gardening, games, object handling, talks and making items
When: 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month
Time: 1.30 – 3pm
Cost: £5 to cover the costs of refreshments and materials

Reminiscence
A group for those who live with dementia and their carers who enjoy reminiscing, sharing stories and handling objects from the past to stimulate memories and conversation.
When: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month.
Time: 10.30-11.30am
Cost: £2.50 per person
Refreshments will be available.
Places are limited, so booking is advised.

Creative Café at The Norris Museum
The Creative Café is an informal drop-in session that is open to participants of all ages, and we particularly welcome those who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or loneliness to feel more connected with their community. These sessions are run in partnership with Arts and Minds.
Refreshments and materials will be provided.
When: 2nd Monday of the month

Royal Air Force Reminiscence Group
Did you serve in the RAF? Would you like to reminisce about your RAF service in a friendly environment with others who served? We are a sociable group of RAF veterans and spouses. We welcome those who are dealing with memory loss and also those who would just like to ‘pull up a sandbag’ and chat with likeminded people.
When: 2nd Monday of every month.
Time: 1.30-2.30pm

In the local community
Reminiscence and Love to Move Sessions
Jointly run session in partnership with The British Gymnastic Foundation.
The first hour, the museum delivers an informal reminiscence session with refreshments. Do you enjoy reminiscing and sharing stories from the past to stimulate memories and conversations. A fun, interactive session that will use museum objects, general chats, quizzes and discussion topics to stimulate meaningful conversations.
The second hour, the love to move programme is delivered. Love to Move is the first cognitive enhancement exercise programme of its kind in the UK, based on scientific research. Demonstrable benefits in the physical, emotional and cognitive aspects of older people especially those living with Dementia.
When: Monday morning, 10am-12pm (except the 2nd Monday of the month)
Where: Burleigh Hill Community Centre, Constable Road, St Ives PE27 3EQ
Cost: £3 for participant, £1 for carer
