Peter Keer was an engraver. This is one of the maps in a series of 44 plates for the British Isles, dating from about 1599, though they took a long time to publish. They were based on work by Christopher Saxton, Ortelius, and Giovanni Battista Boazio. His pocket atlas became known as a ‘Miniature Speed’ as they used the same text for locations as John Speed’s larger atlas.
